A renewable feedstock rarely arrives as a known quantity. Every batch carries its own mix of oxygen, water, and trace contaminants, and that mix determines how it behaves once it reaches a reactor. In Part 3 of NanosTech’s “From Oil to Fuel” series, characterization expert Azfar Hassan and co-founder Lante Carbognani cover the analytical work that surrounds upgrading on both sides: profiling what is actually in a feedstock going in, then verifying that a catalyst performed the way the data says it should coming out.

That verification step is what turns a promising lab result into something a partner can plan around. Characterization data ties performance claims to measurable numbers rather than assumptions, and it is part of how NanosTech validates its catalyst systems as they move from bench scale toward pilot operation.
