What Makes NanosTech Catalysts Different?

Establishing a sustainable and circular economy requires energy companies to push beyond the ‘sectoral sprint’ towards net-zero targets and instead examine the ecosystem's needs as a whole.

At NanosTech, we understand that sustainability amounts to more than reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and includes creating high-quality solutions that producers and consumers can trust to maintain the lifestyle we all enjoy today.

To achieve this, we apply catalyst and nanocatalytic processes to solve real-world problems within the cleantech sector by developing catalysts for specific reactions, such as converting conventional oils (ISUT, AQP ODESSA) and renewable feedstocks (AQP NOVA), with the overall goal of advancing the field by developing more efficient and more sustainable cost-effective catalytic processes.

NanosTech's Catalysts Demonstrate Unique Properties Tailored to Industrial Processes

What distinguishes our catalysts from competitors is our efficiency, selectivity and versatility while remaining cost competitive. Like other industry catalysts, our catalysts increase the speed of chemical reactions. However, data has shown that we can do so at lower temperatures (in many cases by 30% less) than market competitors, reducing the time and energy needed to complete the reaction producing the desired product.

In terms of specificity, when applied to oil conversion processes, our catalysts can selectively promote specific reactions over others, like deoxygenation. This is a trait competitor catalysts lack due to expressing predominantly sulphide phases, which are easily deactivated in the presence of steam and other chemical molecules. And finally, what sets our technologies is their versatility.

Our catalysts can process varying feedstocks, from bitumen, heavy crudes, and tire pyrolysis to biomass.

This enables refiners to process feedstocks opportunistically with minimal changes to established processes, allowing us to quickly respond to market demand changes and feedstock supply chains. Overall, this amounts to reductions in process costs while making refining more sustainable.

Customizing Catalytic Solutions for Real-World Problems

It is more than the versatility of our core technology that distinguishes us from the rest. As a company, we understand that customers are looking for solutions to real-world problems and that new technologies must not only be easily integrated into established processes but need to come with minimal upfront capital investment.

We pride ourselves on solving solutions on a business-to-business model, which seeks to develop an intimate relationship with customers and partners by establishing collaborative goals customized to individuals’ desired outcomes, timelines, and budgets.
